This Tutorial will show youhow to install ubuntu on a single hard drive.

Step 1: Download the CD image from here.

Now burn the image using your favorite image burning software. Then, restart your computer with the disc still in the drive, and be sure that your computer can boot off of the cd-rom.

Step 2: When this press enter on the selected option.

Step 3: When that finishes you should get a screen that looks like this.

Step 5: When you press the install button you select your language here, Then your timezone here and your keyboard map.

Step 6: Now comes one of the only semi-difficult part of this tutorial: Partitioning. If we were dual-booting we could potentially wipe our Windows install in this step. But since we are not doing that this is easy, just accept the defaults like in this image.

Step 7: Now we add the1st user for the system like this.

Step 8: This is the confirmation step, you can review the setting we made earlier and continue.

Step 9: Now the install actually occurs.

Step 10. After the install finishes you will get prompted with this window to continue using the CD or restart. When you restart you will have a fully functioning Linux installation ready to go.
