It&#8217;s crucial to understanding my poem.<\/p>\n<p>What I Believe<\/p>\n<p>I believe that unicorns exist,<br \/>\nbut that dolphins and iguanas<br \/>\nare entirely imaginary.<\/p>\n<p>I believe that a hamster&#8217;s bite<br \/>\nwon&#8217;t kill a man,<br \/>\nbut that his wife will.<\/p>\n<p>I believe that the weirder you get,<br \/>\nthe crazier you are,<br \/>\nbut the more fun you have.<\/p>\n<p>I believe that if you roll over at night<br \/>\nin a small bed,<br \/>\nyou will fall off the side.<\/p>\n<p>I believe that no one<br \/>\nis spared insanity,<br \/>\nbut some people get too much of it.<\/p>\n<p>I believe in determinism,<br \/>\nbut that&#8217;s not my fault.<\/p>\n<p>I believe that, when all<br \/>\nthe clocks melt,<br \/>\nDali goes on without them.<\/p>\n<p>I believe that whatever<br \/>\npulls us under,<br \/>\nwill do so violently.<\/p>\n<p>so as to alarm everyone,<br \/>\nso as to make them shout<br \/>\nand inspire generations of filmmakers.<\/p>\n<p>And I believe that there are living poets<br \/>\nthat are quite good,<br \/>\nbut that I have yet to find any.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>First, read the poem What I Believe, by Michael Blumenthal.
