Where the hell did i put that and what does it look like?
So, since coming into ownership of a car i’ve got to get the road tax renewed. To do this i apparently need my insurance certificate and an MOT certificate. i’ve spent a good day rifling through the families accumulation of documents trying to find these bloody things and I don’t even know what they actually look like.
This brings me to the main question, Why?
The DVLA(british equivalent of the DMV for you yanks) has spent millions on a sophisticated computer system that has all this stuff on it anyway your MOT, insurance, road tax, the lot. and we know it works because the police have cameras that can pull up all this information by looking at your liscence plate and checking, it takes milliseconds.
Surely, i should just be able to go up to the post office and go ‘Hey, I want to renew the road tax on my car. The registration is XXXX XXX’ ‘Right that’ll be £xxx.xx’ ‘here you go’.
bugger all this damn paper IT IS THE AGE OF THE COMPUTER GOD DAMNIT.

Bloody Vegas
okay, so i’m in las vegas a couple days early, guess what though, i’m allergic to EVERYTHING here that includes the beds. to make matters worse i’m stone cold sober and i got chucked out of the bellagio for playing on the slots, lucky my room isn’t there.
still, inside the hoover damn was pretty interesting. big stuff = fun. i’m off to scam some more drinks before my nose starts bleeding from irritation again, i mean, i’m not even picking it or nothing, it shouldn’t bleed.

Phun with Physics
I know i’m a chemistry guy but still this little program is addictive and its physics based.
http://www.acc.umu.se/~emilk/index.html NOTE: you need to download 2 files for this to run, the installer and a file called vcredist_x86.exe, the second is also available from microsoft update, or so it says anyway, i’m running this under wine.
i just like making catapults with it and destroying that tower
doesn’t run so smooth on my laptop though, probably a good thing or i’d never get anything done.
