\nSoon awareness of surrounding space
\nDrives the increasing awareness of self and others
\nThe more aware leads the less to their maw<\/p>\n
While others escape to new spaces the aggressive can\u2019t pursue
\nOther less mobile forms raise antennae to absorb
\nAll the energy of the glowing light from the sky
\nCompetition is fierce between the motile and those that look to the blue<\/p>\n
Competition and cooperation step up the pace
\nWhat will grow, multiply, dominate, or die
\nSoon the liquid that dissolves the chemicals from others
\nNo longer surrounds those that have moved to the surface<\/p>\n
The surface is dry most of the time
\nRequires sex cells to become motile
\nWhen the rain comes, unknown and unseen, sex covers the wet earth
\nSex cells swim up the trunks of trees allowing growth to dizzying heights<\/p>\n
The ones that move will not be left behind in this assault on the land
\nHatched in the water but able to walk and slither
\nAnimals join the plants in conquest of the land
\nEating not only the tall forms that feed on light but each other as well<\/p>\n
Eons pass neoteny makes the grade again and again
\nAnimals revert to their larval forms again to hasten change
\nSoon warm beings rule the cool dry land
\nFirst four legs then two strut out of the forest and across the land<\/p>\n
On of these tall neotenic beings walks into the morning sun
\nHis mate and child walk with him
\nLarge brains, opposable thumbs, reach for the ground
\nPulling up a flower yellow as the sun
\nThe man holds the yellow sex organ of the plant and sees beauty<\/p>\n
