A Nice Try.

Last weekend I was up at my family’s cabin in Wisconsin’s northwoods and I took this photograph:
Long Exposure

I was wondering what I could have done differently. It is approximately a 10 minute exposure but the sky seems to be over-exposed. I really wanted the stars to stand out completely. Maybe I should have waited a little longer. I took this just after twilight and it seemed dark enough.

Getting Started.

Hello everybody. I am thinking about getting into cosmic photography and I was wondering what kind of equipment I will need. Right now I have a Nikon D40 with a tripod and wireless remote. I’m thinking I could get some pretty good photos of the moon using my 50-200mm lens but I am thinking about getting a telescope with an SLR mount to see if I can do any better. Any ideas? Also, here is a photo I took last summer during a lunar eclipse.
