Tea, Earl Grey, Hot

Not quite there yet. But we have chocolate printing, and now 3D printing can make moving parts.

3D printing is a form of additive manufacturing technology where a three dimensional object is created by laying down successive layers of material. 3D printers are generally faster, more affordable and easier to use than other additive manufacturing technologies.

  1. Wow! Apollo 13 could have used one of those.

“Houston, we have a problem; find the solution and fax us the tools!”

  2. This is crazy.

I can’t help wondering though — it seems the printer goes by layers, which I would think, depends on gravity… so, while this is INSANELY cool for a new development and I could definitely use one at home, I wonder if they won’t have to re-engineer this to work in zero gravity.

After all, powder in zero gravity won’t say compacted inside that box that much to be printed on.
