{"id":145,"date":"2008-03-29T04:28:50","date_gmt":"2008-03-29T09:28:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.scienceforums.net\/swansont\/archives\/145"},"modified":"2008-03-29T04:28:50","modified_gmt":"2008-03-29T09:28:50","slug":"carly-simon-physics","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/blogs.scienceforums.net\/swansont\/archives\/145","title":{"rendered":"Carly Simon Physics"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I was poking around the blogdom \u2014 with the rise of science-y, i.e. non-diary (and, I suppose non-dairy) blogs, surfing the web has become interesting again \u2014 and <a href=\"http:\/\/nuclearmangos.blogspot.com\/2008\/01\/big-time.html\">ran across<\/a> a link to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lns.cornell.edu\/%7Eadf4\/cloud.html\">How to Build a Cloud Chamber<\/a>, and <em>that<\/em> reminded of the person that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.scienceforums.net\/forum\/showthread.php?t=18103\">built the cloud chamber using a Starbucks cup<\/a>.  (Not sure if he was so vain, however.)<\/p>\n<p>And that reminded me of the question I had back then \u2014 TRIUMF had a large, continuously-running chamber in the lobby of the visitors&#8217; entrance last time I was there, and though nobody does it better, I&#8217;m sure there are other facilities with similar setups.  Why not run a webcam showing it?  I haven&#8217;t found one.<\/p>\n<p>Second-best is video.  Here&#8217;s one that shows the construction steps of a good one, and some tracks.
