{"id":284,"date":"2008-05-09T18:42:06","date_gmt":"2008-05-09T23:42:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.scienceforums.net\/swansont\/archives\/284"},"modified":"2008-05-09T18:42:06","modified_gmt":"2008-05-09T23:42:06","slug":"life-imitates-art","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/blogs.scienceforums.net\/swansont\/archives\/284","title":{"rendered":"Life Imitates Art"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Well, Art is busy, so life imitates a cartoon instead.<\/p>\n<p>The other night on the Colbert Report, he <a href=\"http:\/\/www.comedycentral.com\/colbertreport\/videos.jhtml?videoId=167602\">interviewed George Johnson<\/a>, author of The Ten Most Beautiful Experiments (which I&#8217;ve <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.scienceforums.net\/swansont\/archives\/255\">mentioned<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.scienceforums.net\/swansont\/archives\/194\">before<\/a>), and the idea for which was <a href=\"http:\/\/scienceblogs.com\/principles\/2008\/04\/the_telegraph_steals_my_ideas.php\">stolen from Chad<\/a>.   The interview was standard Colbert schtick, and Johnson doesn&#8217;t really explain what&#8217;s going on with the physics, but the last 30-45 seconds is great, and becomes the XKCD cartoon <a href=\"http:\/\/xkcd.com\/242\/\">&#8220;The Difference,&#8221;<\/a> about science and pain.<\/p>\n<p>UPDATE:  if you are getting frustrated with the Comedy Central player, there&#8217;s an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.milkandcookies.com\/link\/105782\/detail\/\">embedded link here<\/a> that seem worked better for me.
