Their steam \u201ccatapults\u201d allowed fast enough acceleration for launch.<\/p>\n<p>It was a good run, but it\u2019s time to run out of steam.<\/p>\n<p>The Navy made history Saturday when it launched the first aircraft using the Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System, or EMALS, technology.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>There&#8217;s a video at the link, but it&#8217;s anticlimactic; acceleration is acceleration.
