But here&#8217;s a joke that was posted on this topic at <a href=\"http:\/\/news.slashdot.org\/comments.pl?sid=968805&amp;cid=25062371\">slashdot<\/a> (which I found via <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jamescronen.com\/?p=121\">another conduit<\/a>)<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>A college physics professor was explaining a concept to his class when a pre-med student interrupted him.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Why do we have to learn this stuff?&#8221; he blurted out.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;To save lives,&#8221; the professor responded before continuing the lecture.<\/p>\n<p>A few minutes later the student spoke up again. &#8220;Wait&#8211; how does physics save lives?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The professor responded. &#8220;By keeping idiots out of medical school.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Do Pre-Meds Really Need That Year of Organic Chemistry?
