You could probably do it with a toaster or an electric stove and a Pyrex baking dish (don&#8217;t put the dish directly on the burner, though, because they can explode that way)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Here you go.  I had a beaker rather than a baking dish, and I used the IR thermometer <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.scienceforums.net\/swansont\/archives\/9262\">I demoed a few months ago<\/a><\/p>\n<p><object class=\"embed\" width=\"425\" height=\"264\" type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" \ndata=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/e4TknfO9FM4?fs=1\"><param name=\"wmode\" value=\"transparent\" \/><param name=\"movie\" value=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/e4TknfO9FM4?fs=1\" \/><em>You need to a flashplayer enabled browser to view this YouTube video<\/em><\/object><\/p>\n<p>You can see that the filaments are heating up, but when the beaker is put in place, the temperature drops to ambient.
