It&#8217;s October, which is the time of year various physics blogs I read vie for your hard-earned money to support some worthy classroom projects through <a href=\"http:\/\/www.donorschoose.org\/\">DonorsChoose<\/a>. Rather than run a separate campaign against blogs that are in consortia and have wider readerships, I will merely point you toward them, and I will be donating through one of them.<\/p>\n<p>The first announcement I have seen is from Dot Physics:  <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wired.com\/wiredscience\/2011\/10\/its-that-donorschoose-time-of-the-year\/\">It\u2019s That DonorsChoose Time of the Year<\/a>, and a post at Uncertain Principles has <a href=\"http:\/\/scienceblogs.com\/principles\/2011\/10\/donorschoose_2011.php\">just appeared<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Update:  The <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.discovermagazine.com\/badastronomy\/2011\/10\/12\/reminder-donors-choose\/\">Bad Astronomer<\/a> also has a donation page <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Fear not, this is not about politics.
