Starting my own lab!

In new step in my academic journey, I’ve accepted a position at University of California, Merced as a tenure-track assistant professor starting in July 2015.

I’m very excited to be starting my own lab, moving to California and teaching at UC Merced.

My lab will be focused on evolution in viral and bacterial systems – I am recruiting postdocs, graduate students and undergraduate interns for fall semester 2015! My website is here:

Looking forward to keeping SFN updated on how our research develops.

  1. Many congratulations. Is the “lab” a physical construct, ie a big room with tech inside; or is this a more modern usage as a intellectual collective working together but not necessarily co-located.

  2. In this case, it’s both, currently the group is just me, as I haven’t started yet! I will also have both a wet and a computational physical lab also.

  3. Congratulations! I think you can link your person wordpress blog to your SFN blog somehow, so posts are updated here too.
