A topologist friend of mine once had a meeting with Dennis Sullivan the topologist and geometer. Sullivan immediately asked him “Are you a numbers guy or a pictures guy ?” The reason for the question was that Sullivan believed that he could communicate with mathematicians who thought in terms of pictures but he could not communicate with those who thought in term sof numbers.
Different people understand things in different ways.
