SLAC’s beamline rings and spacers were hydrogen-brazed together by part-time hire housewives. 15 years of operation suffered not a single vacuum leak among the ~200,000 brazed joints. Compare that to the LHC, whose magnet quench dump busbar brazes were rigorously exhaustively IS0-900x certified, and 100% defective. boom
