The “cornering ability” of the beads seems to depend on the tension. Makes for an interesting effect.

After watching the video, I bought 300′ of ball chain to see this for myself. Unfortunately the chain I found was much lighter than the chain in the video, and a 3′ or 4′ drop only caused the chain to rise 1/8″-1/4″ above the rim. Apparently I need more mass or longer drop? Which one will be more effective? (I’m thinking more drop because momentum is proportional to mv^2 but I think the heavy chain will accelerate the same as the lighter chain so more mass will not increase the momentum as much as more fall.
