Electron Mass Measured to Record-Breaking Precision

The cyclotron frequency of a Carbon ion in a Penning trap is used as a calibration so that the magnetic field is well-known. Then the precession frequency of the electron’s spin can be measured, and these values depend on the electron/proton mass ratio.
