i went to a talk about non medical uses for mri, back in mid 90’s. apparently food science types like that they can image the fat in products. one example they showed was the difference between a normal twinkie and low fat twinkie. the normal one had three globs of frosting on the inside, while the low fat one only had two. the no-fat version must be an empty wrapper.
