My Loyalty is For Sale

11 October, 2008 (08:41) | Education, Physics

I notice that Donors Choose is being championed by some physics-y blogs, and others are supporting those blogs rather than compete and dilute the pool.

My endorsement is up for grabs. Convince me whom I should choose. Bribe me.

Here are the ones I’ve seen with Donors Choose posts

Uncertain Principles
The Quantum Pontiff
Cosmic Variance

(CV starts off with a handicap after Sean got me into a bit of trouble with Allyson)

What am I bid, what persuasion can be offered, for turning an entry in the above list into a hyperlink?

Charity arises from surplus. Government exists to confiscate surplus, take a cut as vigorish, then inefficiently redistribute any remainder to the more deserving Officially Sad. What could be more important than fiercely encouraging genetic, developmental, and behavioral trash; reproductive warriors, religious hind gut fermenters, drug addicts, Enviro-whiner Luddites; the stupid, the pathetic, and the Officially Sad?

NSF (funding Hard Science basic research) costs $5 billion/year. Head Start (babysitting and feeding morons so their moms can maximally drop more bastards) costs $6 billion/year. Bothering Muslims costs $5 billion/week. Cut out the NSF and save America! Remember FEMA spending chits and New Orleans post-Katrina? A whole lot of emergency lap dances saved Louisiana.

Hey, that’s just Allyson’s way of expressing appreciation! That shouldn’t count as a handicap, but as a giant head start.
