NASA Releases New Pioneer Anomaly Analysis
Turyshev and co say there appears to be an exponential drop in the size of the anomalous deceleration over time. It’s not easy to see in the data for sure, but there are certainly signs it is there.
That’s an important clue. Pioneer 10 and 11 are powered by the radioactive decay of plutonium-238, which of course decays exponentially.
The Pioneer anomaly is notable not only for its detective work, but also for showing the Emperor is naked.

Note the elegant 21st century physics that early on explained everything. It was the same curve-fitting grandiloquent bloviation that inflates string theory and quantum gravitation overall, SUSY, compactified dimensions, dark matter, matter vs. antimatter abundance, neutrino vs. antineutrino reaction channel rates, etc. It is one and all elegant mathematics that has no empirical correspondence. Theory is preferred to experiment because virtual mud packs tighter than real gems. The greatest obstacle to understanding reality is not ignorance but the illusion of knowledge.
If it cannot be falsified by empirical observation it is not science. It is a superposition of religion and managerial performance bonuses.

Awww… Uncle Al is an organic chemist. Paper synthesis is elegant, but in Pyrex we trust. Modern physical theory derives from mathematically facile mirror symmetries. Results are universally crap toward fermionic mass, hence a hierarchy of manually inserted symmetry breakings. If the vacuum is intrinsically trace chiral toward mass, left and right shoes will vacuum free fall trace differently. Crystallography provides shoes where physics does not shop, 11 pairs of enantiomorphic space groups. Physical theory, like Euclid, could be both rigorous within and incomplete overall.

Quantum gravitation, SUSY, dark matter… are unbelievable because they are fundamentally, demonstrably wrong. Somebody should look. The worst it can do is suceed. Even an organiker can figure it out, then explain it to undergrads if not to tenured physicists.

Optical rotation doesn’t measure atomic mass distribution chirality.
If anybody can find the specific rotations of the saturated and unsaturated lactones and the saturated amide, I’d like to receive those numbers.
