The extraordinary draw of The Big Bang Theory arises from the Severely and Profoundly Gifted being gods among us (less upper body strength). Gods are only tolerable worshipped from afar. Human Resources hires viceless drinking buddies (defeating the purpose even when there isn’t much of a purpose). The only trusted employee is one whose sole marketable asset is loyalty. Academia was better than that, but no longer.
